Yes, friends, at this link you will find my abbreviated documenta 12 love list. I’d also like to mention Luis Jacob’s ridonculously awesome video tribute to Barbara Hepworth and Françoise Sullivan, featuring an interpretive dance performance supplemented by sign language translations of writings on social liberation by said matriarchs. It was one of my favorite pieces in the show, which I appreciated much more as an opportunity to get to know individual artists’ oeuvres than as a meaningful curatorial endeavor. Word.
